What is Johnny’s Chop Shop?

Johnny’s Chop Shop is a cult barbershop chain with heritage in Soho, London and Brooklyn, New York. It’s a retro vibe and modern trend mash-up for remarkable grooming results. The incredible JCS products are created with Johnny’s team of barber talent.

How far in advance do I need to book an appointment?

We occasionally have same day appointments available. Find the links to our live booking systems here.

Is Johnny's Chop Shop packaging recyclable?

Our packaging has been developed to create the perfect balance of looking great, working well and being as sustainable as possible. Where we can, we have made our packaging recyclable. Please check with your local recycling facilities for recycling information.

We are working towards the goal of making 100% of our packaging reusable, recyclable or compostable by 2025 where possible.

Are Johnny's Chop Shop products tested on animals?

We do not test any of our products or ingredients on animals, as per the requirements if EU Cosmetic Regulation EC No. 1223/2009. We do not ask any 3rd parties to carry out such testing on our behalf either.

What is the difference between clay, pomade and wax?

Pomades offer long lasting hold & shine for classic styling whilst wax also delivers shine with lighter styling hold offering flexibility to restyle, clays help to boost volume & body leaving hair looking natural / matte in appearance.

Are Johnny's Chop Shop products scented?

The products contain unique & specially selected fragrances which are designed to enhance the product experience and leave hair /skin smelling clean & refreshed.

How long can I keep my Johnny's Chop Shop products for?

Please see pack PAO (Period After Opening Symbol) for how long a product should be kept after opening. This varies by product, but normally ranges from 6M – 12M.

What's the best way to store Johnny's products?

Products should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

How do I wash out Johnny's Chop Shop products?

Wash hair with warm water using shampoo & conditioner - that should do it!

Are Johnny's products vegan?

Most of our products are vegan. Our non-vegan products are: Wild Cat Hair Clays, Texturising Cream, No.1 Matt Paste & Sports & Social Hair Fibre.

Are Johnny's products natural?

No.

Are Johnny's products organic?

No.

Is the Johnny's range gluten-free?

Some products contain ingredients derived from Wheat (e.g the beard oil). If you have concerns about specific ingredients, please refer to the ingredients list.

Is the Johnny's range suitable for vegetarians?

Yes - none of our products contain animal ingredients. Please note: some may contain animal by-products (e.g. beeswax) and are therefore not vegan.

Do Johnny's products contain alcohol?

Yes - some products will contain alcohol listed as "Alcohol denat.". These include the Texturising Salt Spray and aerosols. If you have concerns about specific ingredients please refer to the ingredients lists on the product pages.

Do Johnny's products contain preservatives?

Yes - to ensure product safety and optimum shelf life. All preservatives used are widely recognised as safe (as per the requirements of the EU & UK Cosmetic regulations), and have a long history of use within the cosmetic industry.
